East Budleigh will regard this result as points dropped with the visitors stealing victory with an 83rd minute penalty and a winning goal with the last attack.
Budleigh should have scored more than just a solitary header in the 41st minute from Hugo Demetre who converted a well taken corner from Liam Mabin.
After a tentative start Budleigh went close in th 17th minute when Demetre and Josh Whiller combined to set Ryan Britton whose shot was parried away by the Ammies keeper.
A minute later a free-kick from Jack England saw Demetre head across goal for George Harris who was also denied by a fine save.
Ammies themselves twice hit the crossbar with their first half chances.
The second half was disappointing for Budleigh who found it hard to get the important second goal and were given a warning on 70 minutes when Ammies should have equalised.
The penalty levelled things up before Budleigh came close to re-taking the lead; Jack Hocking had his shot blocked before Mabin flashed the rebound over.
As the final whistle loomed Ammies grabbed a well taken winner.
This Saturday Budleigh are in cup action in the Devon Senior at Newton Abbot 66. They will look for a better display and will hope that captain Dan Reynolds is fit after being missed last Saturday.
