INTERMEDIATE CUP – ISLINGTON VILLA 2 EAST BUDLEIGH RES 1

East Budleigh Reserves unluckily crashed out of the Intermediate Cup last Saturday when the home side scored a late winner despite what looked like a clear foul on Rory Waite before the ball hit the back of the net.

On a difficult soggy and sloping pitch Budleigh were unfortunate to trail at the break to a deflected effort from the home side.

Budleigh had the better of the second half with Madsion Shaw and Dan Atkinson going close on a number of occasions.

The goal eventually arrived; Atkinson latching onto a well saved free-kick from Steve Davey to level for the Jays,

Budleigh remained dominant, but it was the Newton Abbot side that booked their place in the next round a little fortuitously.

This Saturday Budleigh entertain Amory Green Rovers in the league and can take heart from a spirited display.
