East Budleigh Reserves took on league leaders and unbeaten Witheridge last Saturday and produced a good display to hold their opponents to a scorless draw.

Chances were at a premium in the first half; The Budleigh rear guard of Charlie Copplestone, Joe Day, Paul May and Colin Jeans were coping well restricting the away side to long range efforts.

In the opening exchanges of the second period Witheridge headed against the bar and Budleigh keeper Jack Rowland was forced into a fine save in what was a good handling display from the stand in keeper.

Dan Atkinson went close for Budleigh toe poking a shot wide and Budleigh came closest to scoring when a Corbin Couch corner was cleared off the line.

16 year old Jacob Rice came off the bench for his debut and almost got on the end of a pass from Couch, but both sides had to settle for a share of the spoils.

Man of the Match went to Couch with Jeans also doing well.

This Saturday Budleigh are in action at Feniton.
